Walter Velis is the Founder and CEO of WV Productions, bringing more than a decade of hands-on experience in live broadcast and event production. Velis began his career in 2012, getting his start with the Seattle Seahawks before joining the Seattle Sounders as a utility technician — running cables and supporting the behind-the-scenes operations that power major live events. His curiosity soon drew him toward the replay department, where he developed a deep interest in the engineering and technology side of production.

 

Eager to learn more, Velis began working directly with equipment manufacturers to master their systems inside and out. His technical expertise and forward-thinking mindset led him to become an early adopter of new broadcast technologies, earning him opportunities to work on high-profile productions for Discovery Network, HBO, Showtime, the NBA, and the WNBA — traveling nationwide to support elite live events.

After years of gaining insight into how top-tier productions were designed and executed, Velis was inspired to build something of his own. In 2018, he founded WV Productions, a live streaming and broadcast company dedicated to providing exceptional production services while creating opportunities for emerging professionals to grow in the industry.

 

Today, Velis leads WV Productions in partnering with organizations across all levels — from professional to semi-professional — including the Seattle Reign, Seattle Thunderbirds, Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Storm, and Seattle Sounders, as well as numerous high school and community sports programs. Under his leadership, WV Productions continues to deliver innovative, high-quality broadcast experiences and foster the next generation of production talent.
